Saturday 6/6, 9:00 am (or rather 1:00 am home time)

We barely caught our flight out of Qatar, running through the absolutely huge airport and rushing through security to make the connection. It was crazy and security confiscated my water bottles of course (which I really regretted after all that rushing around!) but at least we made it! I know I'm no experienced flyer, but The flight from Qatar was weird in my opinion because we actually took a bus from the terminal to the plane and then loaded up by way of open stairs. Flying for the first time (that I  remember anyways) has been super exciting, however after that 12.5 hour flight I'm rather tired of it already lol and my bum hurts! I must say, this time change has really really got me confused about when to take my meds! I've finally decided just to wait to take my regular meds until Saturday night my time (having taken them at 3:00 am home time on Friday) but I have no idea when to take the malaria meds again. I took them at 9:00 am Philadelphia time on Friday, which would be 5:00 pm on Friday Tanzania time, so I'm thinking 5:00 pm Tanzania time Saturday right?? This is driving me nuts! But on a good note I seem to have gotten enough sleep on the 12.5 hour flight to keep from being jetlagged, and am currently enjoying the new Cinderella movie on the plane's entertainment system - I just absolutely love this movie! The fairy godmother (whose name escapes me but I know she played in Sweeney Todd and Harry Potter) is absolutely great in the role and so is the person who plays Cinderella, though I must say it always bugs me when it looks like they've dyed the hair blond and left the eyebrows black or brown lol. I don't know when I'll have the wifi available to post this, so it may be quite a while after I've written it, which is why I've titled the post the way I have :) also, here's a picture of a cool multilingual bag of chips I got on the plane!

Now I'm rather glad I couldn't post this right away as I keep thinking of new things to write about: something really neat that the flight attendants did on this smaller plane that didn't happen on the huge plane was that there were two pretty small babies on board and those babies and their parents all sat in the front rows of economy and the flight attendants hung little portable bassinet things on the wall on either side of the doorway for the babies to lie down in. I don't know if they had to trade seats around or if those parents were automatically given the front seats for that purpose when they bought their tickets, but I thought it was a cool idea to have the little baby beds up there, even if at times the baby crying noises were a little frustrating lol.
